Oakland Fire Station No. 18
Oakland, CA
Fire Station 18 is a 10,000 sf urban infill fire station in the heart of a redevelopment district in Oakland. This essential service facility is a proud and strong community anchor within an economically depressed area. Material choice and scale relate to the project’s local industrial, residential, and commercial context.
The project contains many forward thinking sustainable features including a radiant floor heating system and solar hot water heating system. The new fire station is designed for natural ventilation, high energy efficiency, and uses many durable and sustainable materials and was awarded LEED Gold certification.
We are a community based fire service and our new state-of-the-art, LEED Gold energy efficient Fire Station 18 is the anchor of Oakland's Melrose community.
