Richmond Fire Station No. 66
Richmond, CA

The new Fire Station 66 will replace the existing station on the same site. The program includes design that can accommodate two apparatus, living quarters for four personnel, and a community room. A “tot lot” to the east of the station will teach fire safety to local children through playtime activities. The fire station was designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification.
Located on a busy corner within an urban residential and commercial neighborhood, the station will reflect its existing context and positioned to allow apparatus to safely exit the station during calls.

SKA’s design for Station 66 garnered strong community support, and gives back a wonderful play space to the neighborhood.
