Seeking
to celebrate and respect the essence
of Goodwill, the building embraces
the organization’s civic vocation
while remaining true to the character
of a neighborhood in transition.
Situated at a busy intersection,
a gleaming glass, steel and aluminum
rotunda softens the dominant point
of the V-shaped building and acts
as a beacon to the community. Symbolism
has its practical side, however,
and the unique landmark element
also serves as the entrance to the
ground floor retail store and café.
These revenue generating functions
figuratively and literally support
the training and vocational center
on the second floor.
