A
combination of a renovated historic
post office and addition of a new
building, the design divides the
Museum’s functions between
the old and new in a manner that
utilizes each of the buildings’
assets to their fullest advantage.
The new building with its large
clear structural spans and modern
environmental controls houses galleries
and art handling functions. The
historic building, with its intimate
scale, houses offices, art school,
auditorium, bookstore and café.
Between the two buildings is a new
entry hall.
