This publicly owned Sobering Station provides a haven where chronic inebriates can recover from the acute effects of intoxication in a safe and secure environment. The new building includes exam room, separate sleeping areas for men and women, intake area, safety rooms, staff areas, client storage, and clothing and food distribution area. The Detoxification Facility was extensively remodeled to provide sleeping areas, counseling and resource rooms, a kitchen and common area. Both facilities include green building features such as energy efficient mechanical systems, recycled and durable materials, and efficient lighting based on LEED categories.
